I pinch myself every morning to make sure it's real. Then I have to take a Claritin® because it totally is. I'm responsible for the design, photography, videography/animation and management of all internal and external materials for Atlanta's ever-growing urban oasis. In addition to creating all marketing, advertising and digital assets for the Garden, I fulfill the diverse design needs of our education, development, membership, special events, horticulture and conservation departments.

I've done a lot of work for a wacky variety of freelance clients. Just to name a few: regional advertisements for Chick-fil-A, business cards, branding, birthday fliers, bridal shower invitations and save-the-dates, public relations/design work for the Bibb County school system, radio promotions, infographics for Emory University, email newsletters, start-up pitch presentations, headshots, lawyer ads and CD covers.

Look, Simba. Everything the Common Ground logo touches is our kingdom: the business cards, the fliers, the web graphics, the signage, the brochures, the presentation materials and more. In addition to a total rebranding that began in Spring 2015, I am responsible for maintaining the company's web presence, social media efforts (more than quadrupled our Facebook audience), home listing descriptions, direct-mail pieces (and home sales data), and most importantly, unique, HDR-merge home photography.My work, both photos and property descriptions, has been featured on Curbed Atlanta, as well.

All the Atlanta LGBT news + arts + culture fit to print? I put it on the page. In addition to designing the publication from scratch in 2010 (and again in 2012), I was responsible for all editorial layouts in GAVO's bi-weekly tabloid, annual travel guide and annual wedding guide, plus web graphics, media kits and marketing materials. I designed ads for any clients who couldn't provide their own (where I found my passion for branding/messaging/strategy). I penned several feature stories and even wrote, hosted and edited a weekly vlog for a while too.

While technically a "page designer" for Southern Voice, I was responsible for designing the majority of editorial pages and covers (Page 1 + arts) for Southern Voice (weekly LGBT-centric tabloid). As art director of David Magazine, I was solely responsible for all editorial pages and a redesign in February 2009. I shot several covers for the magazine as well. The holiday gift guides for both publications, one the biggest annual projects of both publications, required product selection, photography, design and copy for both publications. It was during this time that I also created the magazine's first social media outreach: a very modern MySpace page.The collapse of SoVo and David's parent company was widely covered by local mainstream media. The Wikipedia entry for Southern Voice says it all. I was caught weeping outside our shuttered office by WSB-TV cameras and broadcast on the six o'clock news. It was definitely a sad day for gay media throughout the southeast.

Similar to my time as an intern, I wrote news and arts for Southern Voice (weekly LGBT-centric tabloid) and David Magazine (weekly gay men's digest). With increased responsibility came more in-depth coverage, like hard-hitting interviews with Kathy Griffin, Leslie Jordan and every DJ that spun a gay party in the mid-200s.

I wrote calendars, news stories, arts stories and took photographs for Southern Voice (weekly LGBT-centric tabloid) and David Magazine (weekly gay men's digest). I also memorized all of my superiors' take-out orders so that I would literally be irreplaceable come lunch time. It worked. Special shout out to Boston Market, Taco Bell, Arby's and Little Bangkok: I'd be nowhere without you.
