The China Program has three long term strategic goals• China-Africa: Partner with China in its transition to be a more effective partner in global health and development in Africa by drawing on its rich development experience gained from achieving the MDGs and influencing and activating Chinese policy, funding and resources;• Innovation: Leverage China’s government and private sector R&D resource and product innovation capacity to achieve the foundation’s goals in global health and development;• Domestic partnerships: Respond to acute needs, especially those with high political visibility, to build and strengthen domestic partnership.

Highlights:-2018 Superior Honor Award, issued by US State Department Assistant Secretary;-Partnerships with Chinese government agencies including but not limited to funding agencies such as MOST and NSFC;-US-China Joint Projects in areas of Biological Sciences, Innovations at Nexus of Food-Energy-Water Systems/Sustainability, Ecology-Evolution of Infectious Diseases;-Facilitating and managing NSF funded projects in China;-Leveraging several millions USD from China;

 Design and plan outreaching strategy to improve the USG image before Chinese public and introduce the USG policy and standpoints, and answer media enquiries about the USG policy and events. Work closely with the Embassy webmaster to maintain and update the online public affairs events and media activities. Serve as key contact for providing USG documents to Chinese media and responsible for the placement of USG document such as press release, senior official’s op-ed, backgrounder on Chinese media. Organize the Embassy officials & visiting USG senior officials’ press activities, including contacting the relevant Chinese foreign affairs offices and organizing Press Conference, interviews, seminars and site visits such as several CCTV exclusive interviews with the former US Secretary of State, and senior officials. I had also organized a group of western media and Chinese central media to accompany and report on the former Ambassador’s visit to the AIDs village in Henan and meeting with Li Keqiang. Monitor media reports and draft media reaction reports to the Department of State, conducting research on China's policy and trends on topics important to U.S.-China relations and U.S. public diplomacy, providing analysis on key Chinese reports in broadened areas of the U.S. interest. Maintains liaisons with key Chinese publicity ministries/agencies and international/central/provincial level media by regular visits, seminars and communications. Supervise 6 staff for the Print Media Office’s daily work including outreaching programs such as the Embassy’s newsletter distribution and Jiaoliu Magazine distribution; daily Media Reaction cable reports and monthly magazine highlight report. Responsible for the Embassy’s China Book Publishing Program, and keep frequent communication with Chinese publishing houses for selecting proper topics to introduce the American culture, law, and society.

• Teaching and Mentoring: Responsible for English Teaching and other courses to undergraduate and graduate students, and mentoring campus societies. Alumni network covers greater China's power related government agencies and industries, SOEs, hydro/nuclear/wind/solar/fossil power plants, research communities, and private sectors.• Research: Researched on Internet/traditional media and communication/journalism. • Project: Assisted the university’s S&T office to translate proposals, abstracts, documents, and coordinated program management/implementation with researchers and government agencies.
