Texas Shafts is a versatile foundation contractor specializing in drilled shaft installation. Texas Shafts undertakes projects throughout the Southwestern United States and abroad with an emphasis on large turn-key high production projects with large diameter and deep drilled shaft foundations for major toll-road and highway bridges constructed on land and over water. Mr. Walker began his career as a laborer in 1984 while attending college. Upon graduation, he continued to advance to operator, superintendent, estimator, project manager and operations manager on foundation drilling projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Mr. Walker joined Texas Shafts in 2006 as a VP of Estimating; currently he is acting President/Owner. The past several years in the foundation drilling industry have given him a solid background in all phases of construction, including bidding, building and supervising major projects across the Southwest. Mr. Walker oversaw the drilled shaft foundation construction component for TxDOT's High-Five multiple flyway overpass project, at that time the largest project ever let by TxDOT. Other Department of Transportation projects include the I-35 High Priority Trans Texas Corridor SH 130 project. He has also managed some of the largest commercial projects in the state, some of which include; D/FW Airport’s new Automated People Mover and the new International Terminal D. Currently Texas Shafts is working on a very high production turn-key project, the largest drilled shaft contract ever awarded in the state for the drilled shafts supporting bridges and retaining walls at the IH 635 Managed Lanes Project in North Dallas.
