In this position I service and maintain industrial floor maintenance equipment both in shop and at the customer locations. Duties include hydraulic, mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment utilizing CAN bus and AC drive systems.

Sun Products Baltimore(formerly Unilever) Baltimore MDTBM(powered industrial equip mechanic) Planned maintenance and prioritize repairs, using MPAC computerized maintenance control system. This resulted in reduced downtime and enhanced safety while simultaneously reducing wasted labor hours on excessive maintenance. These and other efficiency enhancements such as setting the shop up to TPM 5S standards allowed staff reduction from 3 to 1 technician with no loss in productivity. Worked with purchasing to reduce spare parts inventory while maintaining equipment reliability. Found reduced cost suppliers and alternative sources to further drive down parts costs. Found new ways to utilize existing obsolete parts and equipment. Repaired and maintained a fleet of over 90 industrial powered trucks including electric counterbalanced lift trucks, IC powered lift trucks, walkie stackers, pallet jacks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, electric and IC powered sweepers and scrubbers. Oversaw a battery pool of over 80 units, hyper maintained to extend service life from 5 to 7 years. Rehabilitated obsolete equipment to reduce capital costs.  Duties were not restricted to powered industrial trucks, as a maintenance team member, I repaired conveyors, palletizers, pumps, mechanical drives, elevators, fans, heaters, piping and pretty much all industrial systems when needed.

Shop foreman, Training Mgr Baltimore MD Technical and operation training manager. In this role I was responsible for all technical training of dealership techs as well as in house and onsite training of customer’s material handling operators Shop foreman. Responsible for all aspects of shop operation including tech assignment, time management, repair estimates, customer relations and on the job training of technicians. Safety manager. Spacemaker’s first. We had over 200 accident free days at the time of my departure, a record at the time.

 Maintenance mechanic. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of filling machines, case packers and conveyors. Responds to breakdowns throughout the plant. 3 personal corporate awards for efficiency improving innovations. Major role in over 15 more major improvements that had a significant impact on the efficiency of the Baltimore plant. I was also the sole plant electrician, working up to my ability. Repaired and troubleshot 480 volt 3 phase systems. Repaired lighting and motor control circuits. Concieved, designed and built optical level control systems, metering systems, fault detector systems and numerous relay logic panels.
