Ayrshire steels is one of Scotland's most innovative Steel Stockholding & Fabrication companies, with a commitment to providing service and solutions for all steel applications.The business started in 1987, as specialist traders in bulk works' surplus (tubes, plates & sections), purchased from oil companies, shipbuilders and factory closures, however within five years had moved into the prime steel market, supplying the companies it was once buying from. Due to customer demand, processing was soon added to what had become a busy trading operation, with the introduction of Sawing, Plate Shearing & Profiling. Today, a full fabrication facility compliments the original idea, with many Blue Chip companies and the Ministry of Defence as clients.Now, some 37 years later, supply sectors include: Oil, Shipbuilding, Renewable Energy, National Construction, Government, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Fisheries & Agriculture, with the completion of a range of successful projects including: Storage Tanks, Offshore Moorings, Steel structures, Harbour Works, Bridges up to 30 metres, Large Area Steel Floors & Containers.Our experienced and dedicated staff have been pivotal in the continued success of the companyand are looking forward to new challenges.I am delighted at growth over the last 2 years, which has combined a phenomenal increase in the supply of construction items to the building industry and exciting projects for our fabrication business, which now has forward orders into next year.The purchases of a 150 ton press brake, allows us to fold up to 10mm thick plate, keeping another process in-house.We have just introduced a section roller to our range of processing equipment, which give us the capacity to produce better quality curved products.This machine can roll, merchant bar, tube, RHS & solid square up to and including 50mm.The latest addition to our manufacturing capability is a 3000 x 1500 Swiftcut plasma Pro, which, in addition to cutting mild steel from 0.5mm up to 25mm allows us to process aluminium, stainless, brass & copper.After being asked to provide steel & fabricated items for the "Bat Girl" movie set, (filmed in Glasgow) we have had great success supplying other film productions throughout the UK.Although most items are never directly on camera, it's amazing what it takes to make a movie!
