My partner Wendell Gibson and I co-founded Medovation Health Partners as a result of our management of two rural hospitals, where we learned that thinking creatively about opportunities, some capital and a positive attitude goes a long way. We now have several subsidiaries partnering with proven SMEs in imaging, infusion, clinical research, capital financing, and real estate. Medovation is based on the credo of doing well by doing good. We ensure our clients have a solid foundation upon which to grow as opposed to manage their way into financial strength. Prior to Medovation, I founded and am still the President of The Performance Healthcare Group, Inc. (TPHG), a Birmingham, Alabama - based comprehensive healthcare advisory/consulting firm specializing in service start-up, early stage, turn-around and merger/acquisition situations. TPHG has worked with almost 200 clients in a variety of capacities since its formation in 1986. I also founded Performance Properties, Inc., a specialty real estate firm involved in the development, brokerage and management of healthcare properties. I earned my undergraduate, Masters in Health Administration and Masters in Management degrees from Duke University. With 14 years of hospital senior executive experience, including responsibilities for all phases of hospital strategic development and operations, I served as Chief Operating Officer and / or Chief Executive Officer of three medical centers. Because of the breadth of my experience, I have an outstanding understanding not only of how individual sectors of healthcare work, but perhaps more importantly how they interact with each other. As a C-suite member and advisor for over 40 years, I understand how decisions are made and therefore how to influence them. I am also active in and on the Boards of several charities. Married for almost 50 years to Andrea, we have two grown children-by-birth and one by-choice as well as six grandchildren.
