Provide exeutive leadership, planning and oversight for Curriculum & Instruction, Assessment, College & Career Readiness, Vocational Education, Adult Education, Digital Learning; supoport our department's strategic plan and related problem solving, foster cross-unit collaboration and project managment; liaison and coordinate with other state agencies and initiatives; track state and federal policy and political developments and their potential impact on our priority goals and related activities.

Provided executive leadership to several operational units within the department, direction and oversight of the engineering division, and served coterminously as director of human resources (in this union and civil service department) upon the departure of the former director.

Provided executive leadership, program/fiscal/personnel development (doubled to quadrupled funding in 3 different multi-service agencies), oversight of multiple programs (from daycare, to preschool, to after school, to adult literacy and ESL, to community recreaational and enrichment programs), to strategic and political leadership on issues of interest and importance to the community. [I previously served as a teacher in high school, college and 3 adult basic education programs, primarily in math.]
