Welcome to Adventure Photography....... as I update this in August 2024.Yea..... I made it to Australia and my 7th Continent. That's all 7 in only 14 years. That's a lot of money. I spent 2 weeks in Brisbane, Australia with some relatives and went to the ocean a few times and a Wildlife Sanctuary for some great photos of the Kangaroos and Koala Bears. I've traveled extensively and taken some great shots over the years.One of my most recent trips was to go camping in the Sahara Desert of Morocco under the full moon in Sept 2016. I slept out on the sand dunes overnight instead of in the tent.I am now scheduled to......Nope, been there done that. I did spend Christmas 2018 in Antarctica, got to camp out for one night in a snow trench. Each Ultimate Trip keeps getting more expensive and this one cost at least $14,000 for 20 days. I was on a 135 passenger ship for 12 days for $8,250I'll arrived in Ushuaia, Argentina 4 days early, so I had time to explore. Before leaving, I had another two nights before leaving on New Years Eve, arriving Austin early on Jan 1, 2019.At one time, my Ultimate Trip was the 1990 American Pumori Expedition in the Himalayas of Nepal. I was 1 of 8 on an expedition that was across the valley from Mt. Everest. My favorite photo has to be my 20x30 enlargement that Sir Edmund Hillary signed during the 1991 Mt. Film Festival in Telluride Colorado.I always said I would return to Nepal in 20 years and I did. In Oct 2010, I flew to Beijing, China and took the train cross country to Lhasa, Tibet. Went to Mt. Everest Basecamp, then crossed the border to Nepal and on to Kathmandu before going to New Delhi, India to fly home. This trip was now my favorite, "Ultimate Trip in the World".Outdoors is my passion, but music is what changed my life.I have a large collection of STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN photos from their early years in Austin. My first photos of SRV where with a small pocket 110 camera. I later learned to use my first 35 mm camera taking photos of the band.The highlight of my career was when I had my SRV photos on display in the Austin Convention Center during the 1997 SXSW Festival. Over the years, I have displayed them in restaurants, galleries and sold them in stores throughout Austin. That was in the 1990's before I moved to New Mexico in 1999 to work for the NPS as an Interpretive Guide where I got to talk about my favorite subject, Archeology & History.I am now, as of August 2024, retired and working as a "Substitute Teacher". The schedule fits my plans for continuing to travel.Next...??? Do the Panama Canal in Feb 2025?

OwnerAdventure Photography Jan 1980 - PresentHome AddressAs stated above, I started my photography with a little pocket 110 camera taking photos of the young up and coming Stevie Ray Vaughan as he got started playing in the clubs around Austin, Texas. As he became more popular, I lost track of him. In the mean time, I did extensive hiking, camping, backpacking and traveling taking pictures with my new 35mm camera. With the death of SRV, my life changed and with he encouragement of one of his best friends, I started to show my photos around town. I had also worked in a picture framing shop where I had learned the skills to the point that I purchased my own custom matt cutter and glass cutter so I could do all my own framing.My photos of SRV opened the doors to many opportunities to photograph many big concerts as they came through Austin. I have meet and photographed the great B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and of course Willie Nelson. I've also photographed...Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Sammy Hagar, Eric Clapton, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS and many many others over the years.MY travels include Europe as a child of an Military father, Newfoundland Canada, the birth place of my mother, Venezuela and of course travel throughout the U.S. I attended the 1990 American Pumori Expedition in the Himalayas of Nepal; a mountain directly across the valley from Mt. Everest. I later got my 20x30 photograph of Mt. Everest signed by Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Everest. Twenty years later, just as I said I would do, I returned to Mt. Everest basecamp, but this time, via China, on to Tibet, over the Himalayas in a 4x4 jeep on to Kathmandu for my second time before traveling to India and then home. This was my 3 week, $4000 trip where I was alone with only my camera and my carry on bag. My extensive travel and backpacking enabled me to learn to travel with next to nothing. Now with the internet, the world is open to me. I have been to 4 of the 7 continents with intentions of visiting Antarctica, Africa and Australia.

Camping Dept SalesCabela'S May 2005 - Nov 2006Did what I do best, which is advise people of the proper gear for the situation they are going to be in. Proper sleeping bags, tents, etc., for the proper weather. Expertise in travel and camping was the perfect job for both me and the customers,.....just not the management.
