This includes five years as a Systems Engineer, four years in individual sales, managing sales reps directly for two years and managing a IBM sales branch office with annual revenue targets in excess of $250 million for nine years. My last assignment was managing the IBM services operation in the midwest which included large scale application development and outsourcing the Information Technology Departments of major Fortune 500 companies.I should also mention that I was the Deputy CIO for the State of Kansas from 1971 to 1973. I left IBM in 1971 to take the job and returned to IBM in April of 1973.I left IBM in 1992 and owned and operated my own firm, Blackwell Consulting Services(BCS), for twenty years. It is my firm belief that BCS was one of the finest midlevel consulting firms in the country and it always focused on strong technical people aligned with gifted sales people working hard to focus on the customer and his needs.
