For more than three decades, my career has been dedicated to crisis and emergency management consulting. I am an experienced manager and expert in emergency plan development, training and delivery of emergency drills and exercises.Having previously served as Senior Vice President of a large crisis management consulting firm in Washington, D.C, I wanted to provide world-class services from a location closer to home. After several years of successful collaboration in the field of crisis management consulting, my business partner, Ron Markovich and I founded Contingency Management Consulting Group, LLC (CMCG), which is headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.While consultants rarely have the opportunity to respond to real disasters, my career is unique in that it has presented me with numerous opportunities to be in the front line. From major oil spills in Texas, to the 9/11 attacks, I have had the honor to stand alongside consummate emergency service professionals, responding to some of the most daunting crises of our times. As a result, I’ve gained valuable insight into what works in a crisis, what doesn’t, and how to be adequately prepared.One of the most pivotal moments in my career was the Three Mile Island accident that took place in Middletown, Pennsylvania in 1979. Not only did I experience this crisis directly as a resident, I also served as the Commonwealth’s Emergency Planner where I was directly involved in establishing national standards for radiological emergency response.
