Pilot Fuel Technologies, LLC (PFT) and Strategic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) bring innovative solutions to legacy markets (PFT to Energy, Power, Propulsion; SSI to IT and OT) by combining subject matter experts with decades of experience, leading edge digital controls including AI, to improve the engines (computers and internal combustion engines- ICE) that drive humankind today. There are myriad applications for this technology with more than 500 million PFT sees an opportunity to serve both established, well capitalized organizations as well as struggling and underdeveloped areas around the world.Unlike the IT/OT world where Moore's Law means you get "more for less" in the future, engines are routinely in use for 10+ years and large engines in primary power, machinery or vessels often used for 30 years or more. Additionally, moving or replacing an engine is costly or impractical where the superstructure is built over or around the engine itself. In this vein, large legacy engines are much like mainframe computers which continue to work in much the same way they have operated for the past 50 years. The greatest opportunity is to use this new technology in "hybridizing" legacy ICE because those engines are the largest consumers of fuel as well as the largest polluters. These engines were produced either before or with earlier, less restrictive emissions standards and have been grandfathered in so they do not need to be compliant with the latest emissions rules and regulations. In fact, in many situations an older model engine is preferred as it costs less to acquire, takes up less space and weighs less (no emissions equipment) and gets better fuel economy. In my 45 years in business, I've seen a number of instances where disruptive technologies or purpose-built appliances have provided a "leap frog" effect, but I've never seen one such as this which provides a triple bottom line of better fuel economy, more power and reduced emissions. It's exciting to be a part of something that could have such a dramatic impact on the whole of civilization.
