I Served in the RAF Regiment for nearly twenty-eight years all over the world in airfield security. I am trained to operate all types of security equipment and to work in demanding security rolls , attending several professional courses. This included attended a two month course with the Army Royal Engineers in enhanced security for VIP visits. I specialised in security administration, organisation and training, first as an instructor, then as supervisor / manager and then onto designing and updating courses to meet new challenges all over the world as demand dictated the need. I have worked, in Cyprus, Germany, Australia, Kuwait, USA and Belize. In some areas, I was a security/ training advisor and in others a senior manager. Additionally I spent time in Bosnia for the Department for international development helping rebuild the country and assisting mis placed person and refugees to find work and accommodation. Since 2001 I have been employed in what is now called the Border Force, being trained under the Police and Criminal Act to detain and arrest Immigration offenders. In recent years I have become dual trained in Immigration and Customs detection, serving in all areas of our operations, including a tour in Paris. Recently I served on the Greek Island of Samos for six months, working along side many EU countries , assisting the Greek Government dealing with boats arriving with refugees . My main function was to inspect documents and debrief arriving people from different countries of all cultures and religions, then submit written reports as part of an intelligence process, to help the EU understand, the patterns of routes used and the reasons people are coming to Europe. I am a an advanced trained forgery officer and was able to put this skill to good use in the detection of counterfeit and forged documents. I have a vast amount of experience, which I have gained by my versatility and my ability to adapt to new situations and environments. I feel my organisational skills are excellent. I have a good knowledge of First Aid and Health and Safety having attended formal courses. I understand the need for the work place and society in general, to be well organised , so it is much more efficient and affective in meeting the business needs. I am professional, realistic and reliable and maintain high standards. I keep myself fit by hill walking, swimming and cycling. I like the theatre , travel and new experiences, always looking for a new challenge. I feel I could offer a lot to a further employer , either in the United Kingdom or overseas.
