Rose to COO then CEO in early 1980's, leading a national turnaround after PIR shares had dropped from $33. to $2. In nearly 6 years at the helm, with the combined energy of 3000 associates, PIR shares rose from $2. to $27. We set a still unbroken record for share appreciation in any 5-year period following the appointment of a Pier 1 COO/CEO.Former 13-year Board Member of Restoration Hardware, commencing shortly after the opening of RSTO's 4th store.Co-Founder of Import Bazaar LTD, a 20-store chain in Canada -acquired by Pier 1 in 1980. Founder of Simpson and Fisher/WestminsterLace in 1986, a high-end national specialty retailer. Founder of Hero's Welcome Inc. in 1993, a Vermont based retail/online specialty retailer.Former Trainee at JC Penney Co., beginning in 1965. Managed JCP's highest volume Boyswear Department.
