Managed the Quality and Environmental systems including all internal and external audit requirements for both systems, managed a staff of 18-20 Quality Engineers and Technicians providing valuable support to production and engineering teams, accountable for monitoring and achievement of targets for key operating metrics, ensured customer and internal issues were addressed in a timely and professional manner, and flawless launches.o In 2017/18 I led the successful transitions of both Quality Management and Environmental Management systems to the newly updated international standards (IATF16949:2016; ISO9001:2015; ISO14001:2015), achieving certifications in both. o Reduced overall customer complaints from over 100 in 2009 to 24 in 2017, by initiating daily “Fast Response” process, which was key to improving communication, stakeholder engagement and issue resolution. Robust corrective actions implemented and verified using a disciplined 8-D approach, utilizing problem solving tools (Fishbone, 5-Why, Is/Is Not). o Reduced scrap from 2.5% in 2010 to 0.94% in 2017. Developed new scrap database utilizing a shop floor scrap entry system. This gave scrap teams very detailed information to target scrap causes and ensure improvements were sustained. o Reduced COPQ from over 5% in 2010 to under 2.5% in 2017. Scrap and inspection reduction drove much of this improvement. Implemented an automated inspection gauge which reduced labour cost by $300K per year as well as reducing scrap costs, external sorting costs and eliminated repeat quality issues. o Launched ZF/Chrysler 9HP program on time and without a single quality issue in first 2 years. This was achieved through effective project planning (APQP) and implementation of lessons learned from previous launches and quality issues.
