As Director of Engineering I was responsible for teams across many areas at Root including Claims, Renters Insurance, Viral Mechanics, Customer Service, Application Infrastructure and Data Science Tooling. Root grew significantly both in terms of customers and team size during this time. As an engineering leader I helped the team adapt to the technical challenges that came with the customer growth as well as the organizational challenges of quickly growing our engineering team.
