Most of my 40 year law enforcement career focused on narcotics, organized crime, and violent gang members. I spent many years working undercover then supervising and managing undercover operations involving sales, smuggling, importation, manufacturing, transportation of controlled substances and managing the many risks associated with these investigations. I was a proud member of California's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and retired from that agency as the Special Agent in Charge in December 2011.I am a Past President (2005) of the California Narcotic Officers' Association (CNOA) and continue to serve as an Executive Board Member. In 2029 I was reelected to Sgt at Arms for CNOA and will progress through the VP positions until 2025 when I will again serve as President. I also serve as the Southwestern Regional Director of the National Narcotic Officers' Association Coalition (NNOAC) representing the seven western states. I served 2 terms as a Commissioner on the California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) appointed by both former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Edmund G. Brown. I managed the Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area's (HIDTA) Training Program from 2011 through 2018, primarily focusing on officer safety and developing law enforcement officers' expertise in conducting investigations involving violent criminals, drugs and organized crime.
