As a Board member, I took it upon myself to help CSTD engage with the College system across Canada. To that end we have successfully partnered with Vancouver Community College and have made many other Colleges aware of the value of CSTD.I lead a small team that is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of new Board members. I acted as Coach for a previous President during her tenure with CSTD.

I was hired by PARC to conduct line manager training with a group of new managers. The training included: developing a work plan that aligned with the vision and mission of the agency, aligning the work of each manger to prevent overlap, consulting on management styles and interpersonal relationships, and assisting managers to develop business plans for their units. The position was 2 days per week.

The purpose of CSPOD was to create a nation-wide community of practice for those involved with faculty, staff, and administrator development in post-secondary educational environments. To that end, we had members from all Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Colombia. We hosted National Conferences in Montreal, Halifax, and Toronto.

During my time at Seneca, I engaged in a coaching relationship with a Chairperson. Our work together focused on problem solving both at the administrative level and at the interpersonal level. I also conducted coaching workshops at Seneca for line managers with a focus on helping them develop the skills necessary to "coach" their own employees.

Repsonsible for the training and development of all faculty, support staff and adminsitrative staff as well as responsible for the overall organzational learning culture. Under my leadership, we created a true community of learners among the faculty as was indicated in the rates of participation and satisfaction over a nine year period. By the end of my tenure, faculty satisfaction rates had increased to 91% either satisfied or very satisfied. We also developed, piloted and implemented a Faculty performance Review system that was based upon peer feedback, self evaluation, and supervisory feedback, and resulted in a development plan for each faculty member.Support staff satisfaction also increased as did the number of offerings, particularly training in Microsoft Office. As well, we offered numerous workshops on team building, communication, personality types, and working styles.We developed and implemented a Performance Review System that encouraged self and supervisory evaluation supported honest dialogue between staff and their supervisors.We developed a community of practice for the Chairs in the College which resulted in higher morale, and higher productivity. We were not able to implement a formal leadership training program prior to my departure from the College.

As Canadian Vice President of NCSPOD, we were able to increase the Canadian membership by 100%. During my tenure as President, we held our International Conference in Montreal which featured Stephen Lewis as the major keynote speaker.

Responsible for thr training and professional development of parti-time and full-time faculty and functioned as the coordinator of the Teachers of Adults Program
