Member of a team that migrated major financial institution from IBM z/VSE to z/OS. Included in this endeavor were the following.1. Replacing all VSE JCL with upgraded z/OS JCL2. Upgrade program inventory to latest level of COBOL(V6)3. Re-Engineer major application system4. Migrate VSE Data to z/OS5. Complete system switch with MINIMAL IMPACT on user communityEach of the above was successfully completed.

Managed 20+/- Data Center upgrades. A typical upgrade involves themigration of thousands of Batch and Onlie programs. COBOL programs were upgraded to the latest level suported by IBM, or othe vendors. Assembler programs were often recoded to meet MVS requirements. All existing Job Control Language was converted to MVS(Z/os) JCL. A typical project lasted 9-12 months, depending on complexity.

Managed migration of Data Center for VSE to MVS. This was accomplished in tandem with physical outsourcing of I.T. environment from Detroit to Boulder Co. This project involved the updating of 6000+ COBOL programs, several hundred ASEMBLER programs, 500+ CICS maps, 1000+ DMS scripts and the migrating of 1+TERABYTES OF IMS data, and 3000+ JCL streams..
