The Cooper Shortcut Camping Journey Blog! We’ve been hitting the road and pitching tents with our kids for over forty years. It’s been an incredible journey that started with tent camping, which we loved—when it was just the two of us. But as our family grew, so did our camping setup. After our second child, we traded the tent for a pop-up trailer, and that’s when tent camping became more of a fond memory than a reality. From there, we stepped up to a hybrid travel trailer. It was perfect for our growing family, with both the front and rear expanding to create cozy bedrooms. Eventually, that hybrid was replaced by a 36-foot travel trailer, which felt like we had all the comforts of home—and then some! As the kids began flying the nest (with two still at home), we downsized slightly to a 33-foot Class C motorhome. The freedom and flexibility it gave us—especially for boondocking—was beyond what we ever imagined. With retirement in sight, we began dreaming of full-time travel. We spent three years visiting RV shows, dealerships, and gathering all the information we could. Ultimately, we found our perfect match—a 45-foot Toy Hauler, designed to not only carry our Harley’s but also provide us with a comfortable home on wheels. While full-time RV living is our goal, a few home responsibilities still bring us back at least one week each month. We’re beyond excited to start this next chapter of chasing sunrises and sunsets across the country and sharing every step of the way with you.Let’s embark on this journey together!

BloggerCooper Shortcut Oct 2024 - PresentUnited StatesGrowing up, some of my fondest memories were the road trips I took with my Grandma, Alice Cooper (now, while she played the bass cello, the rock star status was purely in our minds). She was quite a character, sitting on top of three big phone books just so she could see between the dashboard and the steering wheel. And when her right foot got tired from pressing the gas, she'd just shift and use her left—nothing slowed her down!Grandma always said she never got lost. Instead, she'd confidently declare, "We're not lost; we're taking a Cooper Shortcut!" For her, the journey wasn't just about getting from point A to point B. It was about embracing the adventure—full of wonder, challenges, and all the highs and lows that come with life. Whether it was a broken heart or a special celebration, each moment was just part of the ride.I credit Grandma for giving me the energy and enthusiasm to greet each day with a smile and to always see the good in people. Everything I do—from our travels to how I live—is a tribute to her, and to my mom, who carried that same spirit forward. It’s their legacy that keeps me going, and it’s a big part of why I’m so passionate about sharing our journey with you.
