I have been in the ski industry since 1983. It is my love and my passion. I have recently partially come out of retirement as a Seasonal Benefits Specialist for a fabulous Company, Blendable Inc. My immediate focus is on helping ski areas develop cost effective and flexible benefits plans suitable to a highly seasonal business. I am very excited to be back to my roots in ski area human resources.I was Human Resources Manager at Cypress Mountain for 10 years and was the founding Chair of the Canada West Ski Areas Association Human Resources Committee in the early 1990s, remaining actively involved for over 25 years.I recently retired from 24 years teaching the Ski Resort Operations and Management program at Selkirk College. It was an honor to help young people achieve their dreams of making a career in this great industry. It has been incredibly fullfilling to see graduates succeeding and living their dream.In 2007 I developed an online course, Ski Resort Risk Management. It is designed for managers and supervisors currently working in the industry. Selkirk offers the course every winter semester.When not working I spend time with my dogs and as many days as I can get in skiing at Whitewater and paddling my kayak or raft on the Slocan River.
