In 2014 the UCLA academic senate awarded him their Distinguished Teacher award from among UCLA's 4,000 faculty members.

XCS was a start up division of Xerox selling enterprise resource planning and accounting software services delivered via cloud computing. Grew sales from zero to $100 million. Managed 550 employees, including 105 direct sales representatives in 17 branch sales offices. Previously was the Vice-President of Software Development managing three large computer centers, a $21 million budget and 330 employees, including 130 software programmers.

Founder and co-owner of an early stage technology company to design and build factory automation and robotics manufacturing systems. Provided engineering design, software development, and systems integration to produce custom turn-key automated manufacturing systems. Exclusive distributor in the western United States for GMF Robotics, a joint venture of General Motors and Fanuc of Japan. Sold and installed $30 million of projects in five years and increased revenues to $15 million/yr. Projects included robotic camouflage spray painting the General Dynamics M1A1 Abrams main battle tank, McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics cruise missiles and the Northrop B-2 stealth bomber. Developed robotic arc welding systems for Steelcase furniture, Caterpillar earth moving equipment and John Deere tractors. Sold the firm to GMF Robotics

This engineering research and development company designed and built computer controlled machinery for the fabrication of composite plastics such as fiberglass, Kevlar and graphite. Joined when sales were $2.8 million a year and increased sales 250% in just one year to $7 million, through major sales to Hughes, Boeing, Lockheed, Dassault, and Beech Starship.
