Bob Gallaher Email and Phone Number

Bob Gallaher has been working in EMS for over 33 years. He started with BCAS as a part time paramedic in remote BC. He then moved to Edmonton during their transition from a private provider to a municipal service. There he graduated from NAIT with an honours diploma as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Career progression took him to his first mangers position as an operations supervisor. Bob was the onsite medical coordinator during the Edmonton Tornado. He also worked with a First Nations ALS service in Hobbema Alberta and the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS). He was lured back to BC as the Regional Dispatch Manager where he was credited with introducing AMPDS to BC which brought its first Quality Improvement program to the system. He went on to become a Superintendent, A/ Regional Director, then Executive Director of the BCAS for the Interior. He led a multi-disciplinary team during Firestorm 2003 for BCAS and assisted the Health Authorities during this crisis. Bob along with Interior Health brought the first ground based Critical Care Paramedic Program to the Interior which provided support to rural and remote medical facilities for trauma and complex care patients. He was also instrumental in implementing the first integration project between a Health Authority and BCAS in Midway. Bob helped develop the EMS Accreditation Standards and responsible for the pilots of the standards in BC. Bob is married for 32 years to his wife Kathy an RN in emerg, diabetic educator and educator in the healthy heart collaborative. They have 4 children and one grandchild. Bob likes to do triathlons, golf and camp in his off time.
