I was born in Winnipeg, Canada. That is a city in the province of Manitoba, which is directly above our state of North Dakota. Our family moved to Florida when I was in the 4th grade. We lived in Florida all the way through High School. The Lord saved me on Feb 6th, 1973, and I entered full-time ministry on Feb 12th, 1973, becoming part of the “Shiloh Ministry”, which had grown out of Calvary Chapel in Southern California.Gayle Grenier and I moved to Visalia, California, in the summer of 1978, and with the God's direction founded Calvary Visalia. Gayle and I are both deeply committed to “finishing our course well.” Acts 20. We are blessed beyond words to be serving Jesus Christ in this body of believers.My personal vision for ministry is found in the book of Ephesians 4:11-16.Another way of looking at the heartbeat of my heart is the saying which I’ve adopted from my Pastor Chuck Smith, and that is, “we simply teach the Bible simply”. With that in mind, let me explain my personal calling as a pastor is to teach through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, in a verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book method. And, when we get to Revelation, we go back to Genesis and start going through the whole Bible again. What a joy and blessing it is to have God’s life-changing Word to take in and learn how to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.Also, and I’m not sure where I first heard this, but it’s also a heartbeat issue for me, in fact, it’s the primary one: ”The main thing in Christianity is to keep the main thing, the main thing.” And of course, Jesus Christ is the main thing.“And, finally, I thank God for the Holy Spirit and His ministry in our lives and ministry. I’m constantly reminded of what God said in Zec 4:6 So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts.
