Had a first career in academic science focused on infectious disease and immunology with foundational exposure across life sciences. Achieved tenure twice while working at four different universities. The next career began as a cofounder in a start up biotech that eventually focused on both regulated and unregulated products in animal health. Approximately 18 months after an IPO (NASDAQ:HSKA) assumed responsibility as CEO and led a successful turnaround. Toward the end of my tenure as CEO led an effort to acquire a majority interest in a high growth company and, in turn, transitioned from CEO to Executive Chair with the President of the acquired company succeeding me as CEO.
