First Category Manager for renewables portfolio. Sourcing Lead for multi-billion dollar expansion into renewables generation including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems. Responsibilities include working with business unit partners to develop category strategy which will enable Xcel Energy to achieve its goal of becoming carbon free by 2050. Specific projects include conducting RFP’s and negotiating contracts for:• 460MW solar facility in Minnesota which will be Xcel Energy’s first utility-scale project; • Multiple microgrid projects;• Multiple greenfield wind projects • Multiple wind repower projects; Also responsible for negotiating and managing contracts and leading supplier relationships with operations and maintenance vendors for the nineteen wind farms currently in the Xcel Energy portfolio. Responsible for ~$300,000,00 capital spend and ~$80,000,000 O&M spend in 2021.

Responsible for planning and leading competitive sourcing events primarily in the area of renewable energy for capital construction and O&M projects. Lead cross-functional team in development and implementation of negotiation strategies. Served in first chair of teams negotiating contracts ranging from the purchase of wind turbine generators to construction of wind farms. Contract responsibilities continue after execution of agreement to include compliance with contract terms and managing disputes while minimizing impact to cost and schedule.

Manage development and issuance of RFQ/RFI/RFP bid packages for category buys (up to $2.5M) and small projects (up to $250K), lead bid evaluation, analysis, and supplier selection processes. Partner with bid evaluation team to negotiate contracts with vendors. Identify opportunities in partnership with the category manager and develop master services agreements with key operational suppliers in alignment with the category strategy. Conduct analysis of and interpret statistical data. Partner with field location management in all aspects of contract creation, review, analysis, administration, supplier compliance and performance tracking. Represent company’s interests with suppliers/contractors managing risk during routine terms and conditions negotiations. Advise business partner in problem solving, resolves issue and escalates as appropriate up through the Category Manager.
