 Responsible for the overall Quality Assurance/Control for the 3 Iowa food plants. This includedregulatory support of the food plants with FDA, FSSC-22000, Kosher/Halal Certifications, Organic andFSMA certifications. Established Corporate Stewardship program for Aveka Group to track, analyze and monitor resourceconservation and environmental stewardship projects and programs with a focus on reducing usage ofutilities, energy, and waste. Provided leadership in the development and implementation of our Environmental Management System forthe 5 plants in Minnesota and Iowa. Developed a monthly internal Group quality audit to provide leadership, traction and accountability forquality initiatives and best practices.

 Responsible for the successful design and startup of the plant in Waukon, IA. This included the hiring ofmanagement staff and hourly employees. Setting up the Quality Management System that fits the needs ofour future customers. Work with Corporate Engineering, Accounting and Business Development personnelto develop the plans for the building, equipment and services needed at the Waukon site. Direct construction crew along with corporate engineering on the building and internal designs for the plantupgrades and changes. Responsible for setting up the FSSC-22000 certification, regulatory permits and policies with agencies.

 Set up computer based preventative maintenance software program. Instrumental in setting up machineshop with tool design and equipment fabricating capabilities. Responsible for all maintenance personneland maintenance activities. Provided leadership in multi-million dollar facility renovations that helped to develop new areas forexpanded manufacturing, R&D development and food lab processing. Coordinated the ISO-9001:2008 upgrade and recertification for our facility in Woodbury, MN. Safety committee coordinator – Developed safety manual and coordinated monthly safety meetings withSafety personnel at AVEKA, Inc. Provided monthly safety meeting minutes and participated in our 1 stAVEKA Safety Awareness Day in 2011. Managed all Regulatory Affairs for the Woodbury facility. This included MPCA, Washington CountyHazardous Waste, MN Dept. of Labor & Industry Responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental programs. Also managed uniform services with ourapproved vendor G&K.

Developed and oversaw ISO-9001:2000 certification at the Woodbury facility. Managed quality engineer,quality technician, documentation specialists and inspection coordinators. Provided quality, technical,documentation and regulatory support. Managed “Quality Management Systems”, work instruction development, quality reporting, calibrationprocedures, environmental monitoring, capability studies and validations, special projects and technicalproblem resolution. Directed all quality activities including engineering, inspection, reporting and customer relation’s functions.Planned quality functions, staffing, staff mentoring and training, calibration requirements, strategic plansand other quality processes. Managed inspection processes, quality reporting, calibration procedures, environmental monitoring,capability studies and validations, special projects and technical problem resolution.

 Successfully completed Air Academy “Six Sigma Black Belt” training in Colorado Springs, CO inDecember 2001. Acquired Six Sigma Black Belt certification upon passing Air Academy’s course test andcompletion of 2 projects. Orchestrate all plant operations and the efforts of seven managers and 100+ production employees. Directall planning, staffing, scheduling and reporting functions. Implement processes to increase productivity,reduce overhead and maximize profitability. Control staffing levels to achieve low manufacturing costs. Resource and validate capital improvements to keep pace with emerging technologies and industry trends.Plan and control capital budgets, manage employee functions, enforce company policies, and directlysupport sales staff and customer relationships. Implement programs to enhance industry presence. Direct plant resources to achieve all company safety, quality, efficiency, profitability, quality of work lifeand values goals. Prioritize and schedule jobs; ensure availability of needed materials, equipment, tools andpersonnel. Implement plant operational changes to streamline all manufacturing operations.

Directed 15 staff members and all quality activities including engineering, inspection, reporting andcustomer relation’s functions.  Spearheaded various defense-related projects under contract with the U.S. Government. Orchestrated thedesign and production of rugged computer and tracking systems for the Navy, Air Force and other globaldefense organizations. Supervised 10 employees. Interfaced with government inspectors, and instituted just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing lines. Assisted withthe development and launch of bar code data collection systems.

 Prototype and produced new product designs. Liaised with design engineers to assess productionfeasibility, process development and tooling requirements. Identified and resolved related issues. Workedclosely with customers and internal design, QA and executive staffs.
