Accomplishments:• Developed cost models for caliper cost, including electric park brake calipers, that have enabled multimillion-dollar cost avoidance on major vehicle programs.• Developed cost models and excel quick tools for rotor cost to quickly and accurately provide costs for purchasing and engineering.Responsibilities:• Design cost models based on design and manufacturing specifications to predict component and system costs for new vehicle designs and for engineering changes for rotors, hubs, bearings, and drum-in-hat park brakes. • Investigate the manufacturing process and create a process flow for each. • Working closely with design engineers, purchasing and suppliers, determine the actual cost of the product or change. • This cost is used in product planning, purchasing negotiations, and to determine opportunities for technical cost reductions. • Support purchasing and engineering on product cost reduction opportunities.

• Provided customer support and ongoing product development to Ford Motor Company for TRW Automotive in regards to caliper and rotor assembly issues including brake noise, roughness and other customer satisfaction and warranty issues. • Met with product engineering regularly to support their concerns and warranty cost reduction to review returned parts.

Accomplishments:• Conducted an investigation that resulted in a multi-million-dollar recovery in cost for the customer from a supplier.• Reviewed the brake system maintenance procedures of a major fleet and provided guidance for improvements.Responsibilities:• Self-Employed - provided consulting services, primarily in automotive and heavy truck braking and accident reconstruction.
