Trombonist - 1983 - Present• A very active freelance trombonist around the Boston area since the early 1980’s.• Featured on over a dozen original CD’s, and even more compilation recordings.• Experienced in many genres, including jazz, classical, brass band, latin and r&b.• Played with many national acts, including The O’Jays, The Funk Brothers, Frankie Valli, and Wayne Newton.Arranger - 1990 - Present• Original arrangements include brass trios, quartets and quintets, small jazz ensembles, big band, and choral pieces, both a cappella, and accompanied.• Transcribed and adapted or arranged over 1000 pop tunes.• Arrangements are featured on several recordings, as well as movie and television sound tracks.Clinician - 1983 – Present• Presented a clinic on “Ear Training in the Real World” to students of the Ear Training dept. at Berklee College of Music.• Adjudicated Massachusetts District and All State festivals, and privately sponsored recital competitions.• Presented a workshop on music technology to the Massachusetts Music Educators Association• Assisted in jazz interpretation and improvisation workshops at many public schools.Teacher - 1983 – Present• I teach private and group lessons on trombone. I’ve also tutored adults on using Finale.1983 – 1990 - Foxboro, Blackstone, Norwood, King Phillip Regional, Franklin and Dedham, Massachusetts, as well as Ponagansett Regional, and Burrilville, RI schools• Primarily taught private and group lessons on trombone, tuba and euphonium. • Often served as a substitute teacher, primarily in music, but also academics. Duties included group lessons on all instruments and leading rehearsals for concert and jazz bands.• Elementary Band Director for King Phillip Regional district for one year.• Interim Jazz Band director in Franklin.• Directed a community band in Blackstone for a summer session.Specialties: • I have twenty years of experience with Finale.
