Responsible for the redesign and development of the NYS Statewide Perinatal Data System (SPDS aka Birth Certificate System) encompassing both the J2EE application and the data model implemented in Oracle. The J2EE applications runs under WebLogic and captures all birth related information in New York state hospitals. The application then can generate dynamically a PDF based birth certificate and PDF reports. In addition, the application provides various reports and exports to Social Security Administration, NYS Medicaid, and the federal government. The application also allows back-end access to birth information by the NYS Vital Records department.Design of SPDS application was performed under the RUP methodology. Responsible for creating multiple artifacts in the process via UML (i.e. Use Cases, Class Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, etc.) later used at templates for other corporate projects.Designed a J2EE MVC framework for application development as based on a trimmed down “Struts” framework. Provide mentoring and training to the project’s software engineers. Responsible for providing technical response of RFPs.Managed 8 software engineers for the Birth Certificate, VacMan (Vaccine Mangement) and NICU systems.

Design of a not for profit portal for the visually impaired and content management application. Responsible for the design of the J2EE framework and infrastructure. Provided the features for message forums, survey/polling, dynamic page generation via XML and XSLT and their integration into the framework. Wrote a technical rational for the customer and project management in the advantages of using J2EE and XML/XSLT for the application.Responsible for the design of the J2EE framework and infrastructure used in a financial brokerage application, Mergent formerly the Financial Information Services division of Moody’s Investor Service. Provided the features for dynamic generation of PDF reports and the email attachments of the reports through the integration of open source packages.Responsible for the design of the J2EE framework and infrastructure used in a federal job banks application. The redesign involves taking a Python/C based application and redesigning it to be deployed in a Java enterprise (J2EE) infrastructure. Involved in the design of a MLB (Major League Baseball) kiosk/browser system to run off a Java based infrastructure of EJBs, servlets and JSPs connecting to a backend Oracle database.Technical lead in the design and development of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Game’s Ticket Request Tool and Mail Order Entry Tool. Both tools are based on the Model-View-Controller design incorporating JSPs, Servlets, and EJBs communicating to a backend Oracle database. The tool broke Olympic records of over $23 million in ticket requests. Participated in the redesign of the internet ticketing system for www.tickets.com.Involved in high level design of systems in UML via Rational Rose, and the implementation of the designs into Java code and EJBs to run under a cluster of application servers. Providing additional technical assistance in the redesign of multiple databases (SQL Server, Orcale, Sybase) into one Oracle database.Designed and developed the TicketsLive website (www.ticketslive.com), the Internet’s first live ticketing system. Developed the Java and C cgi applications to perform communications between an Oracle database and proprietary databases residing on separate servers over the Internet. Designed the database schema for the TicketsLive Oracle database. Designed and developed stored procedures for dynamic web pages in PL/SQL. Installed and administrate the Oracle WebServer on a Sun Ultra and NT server. Supervised two programmers full-time and additional programmers on a per project basis.
