Recruited to provide senior leadership to TIAA-CREF on its corporate wide transformation initiative.• Customer-centric transformation focused on expansion of products and services, and overhauled an outdated IT systems and business processes. This $150 million yearly effort included a migration of over 4 million participants and 13,000 institutions to a new record keeping platform, and expansion of its product offering from a handful of TIAA-CREF products to broad investment menu (800 options). Responsible for all aspects of managing the OPS technology organization including sourcing (onsite/onshore/near-shore/offshore), contract negotiations, vendor management, operational strategy and execution.• Owned development and execution of all conversion applications in support of the Direct Plan Conversion effort, which includes 12,000 institutions, 1.2 million participants, and $20 billion in assets.

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (1998-2005)Hired in 2001 as Director of IT Strategies, promoted to Director of Business Engineering Solutions in 2002, to Director of Business Engineering Solutions/IT Infrastructure in 2003 and then to CIO in 2004.• Drove IT Strategy of variable Outsourced IT which resulted in outsourcing of all IT operations functions. This strategy delivered a 66% reduction in the total IT budget, while delivering superior application availability of 99.7%.• Migrated all IT operations support to Sprint ESolutions, resulting a $5 million cost savings, and negotiated the acquisition of existing Mindspeed computer assets by Sprint ESolutions to offset new hardware costs, which resulted in the write-off of nearly $5 million in assets, and reduced monthly recurring charges.

Hired as Year 2000 Program Manager, promoted to Data Center Manager/Y2K Program Manager in 1999 and Director of Mergers & Acquisitions Integration in 2000- In January 2000, I developed the strategy for integrating business processes and applications of acquired companies and resultant organizational alignment. Led a 20-member team on nine acquisitions (total of $2 billion invested), providing seamless integration of multiple processes, functions, and technologies.- As Manager of Data Center Operations, led a team of 15 system administrators responsible for 200 servers supporting business-based and manufacturing applications in a 24x7x365 environment. Earlier, led Y2K efforts for Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, the $1.2 billion Semiconductor Division of Rockwell International, with 8,000 employees. In 1998, this semiconductor division was spun off and became Conexant Systems.
