Assessment of items brought in, present offer for items which we wanted to purchase, do the necessary paper work get our clients paid

Our clients brought in a diverse collection of items for us to perhaps buy, as a buyer it was my job to go through these items, explain which items were desirable to my company and the reason we sought to purchase said items. Sterling flatware in most cases was bought for it's interstice value meaning silver content, junk gold and silver jewelry for the same reason these items we bought based on weight and current market value for their metal content. US and foreign coins and currency was bought for one of two reason Collectors value or interistic value the more rare the date and mint mark the more collectors value a coin would have the more common the date it relied on its interistic value for value over and above its face value, currency was purchased for condition and rarity the more rare it was and it's condition all came into play as toward what our offer was to be. Upon review of their items and desireablity we would proceed to make an offer for the items we wanted based on fair market value once that was accepted we did the necessary local and state required paperwork and got them paid for the items we wished to purchase
