SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEERING CONSULTANTDesigned and implemented a number of enterprise level systems for both internal and client use.• Reengineered the company’s Internet site to provide dynamic searching of the company’s contract schedules, shopping cart functionality and sales quote generation. This change enhanced FDC’s presence in the federal computer marketplace by providing timely presales information to government buyers, in a format that is customized to their individual needs. • Designed internal data handling procedures to ensure accurate, up to date pricing information.• Deployed sales force automation (SFA) software. This provided increased productivity in sales and marketing initiatives and the level of customer service through enhanced communication.• As member of a consulting team reporting to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, performed wide area network (WAN) reengineering, including the redesign of national level networks for the US Federal Judiciary. These changes improved access to on line services within the entire US Federal Judiciary.

Designed and implemented systems in support of nationwide data collection systems used to demonstrate the effectiveness of a multi-billion dollar government program to combat HIV/AIDS.• Designed and implemented data systems used in program evaluation. These systems, written in Microsoft Visual Basic, manage data received from state and local health organizations regarding outpatient care for HIV infected individuals. The submitted datasets are checked for errors and then stored by the software in a relational database. One of these systems was used to assist in the allocation of grants in excess of $175 million for the division's 1996 budget year.• Coordinated activities associated with the above-mentioned data systems. These duties included working with several internal offices to develop functional specifications for the software and associated reports, the development of materials for outside agencies, and providing support to outside agencies to ensure a correct and timely submission of data. • Using Visual Basic, designed a Microsoft Windows based application to assist local governments in planning for outpatient HIV care delivery. This program is designed to use a linear optimization module to determine optimum service configurations based on the needs of a given patient population.

Designed and implemented a LAN based, client/server software application to report and track problems found in the company's software products. This system increased interdepartmental communication, led to faster resolution of problems, and improved the overall quality of the company's products. For this project, a central DB2/2 database was used, and the client application was written in C with embedded SQL.
