Managed a local team of six and led a nationwide team of over fifteen purchasing professionals in all purchasing and inventory management functions for this nine location $600mm foodservice distributor, the nation*s second largest, including international sourcing, corporate contract negotiations, and overall supplier and supply chain management. Personally designed, developed, and negotiated unique yearly contracts with all approved suppliers netting over $9mm annually over and above previously established contracts. These dollars annually went directly to improving EBITDA. Improved inventory turns from under 9 to over 15 thru diligent management and training of staff in maximizing the abilities of the pre-existing and then recently implemented ERP corporate system as well as redeveloping ordering patterns and policies.Reduced inventory levels by 20% from YE2010 to YE2011 by revising purchasing procedures and tightening processes developed for new ERP system. Kept staffing levels constant while company grew 35% by revising job functions and modifying work flow while cross training department.Implemented an ongoing program initiative for cost reductions for the Corporation by consolidating purchases and multi supplier negotiations. Each of these initiatives netted well over $1mm in savings annually and continued to reap these savings moving forward. Initiated and managed directly the branding of *TriMark* products onto hundreds of items, with 10*s of new items branded every year. Managed personally the complete cycle of the company*s first foray into importing finished product including sourcing, production control, quality control, container tracking, customs clearance, and all other steps needed to get product from overseas facilities into the USA. Established many cost saving programs netting the company over $2mm annually by resourcing domestic suppliers, reengineering products and working closely with Design and Production to reanalyze the manufacturing process of each item produced.
