  • Financier And Military Firearms Instructor
"The Gift Of Life Project" Non-Profit Jan 2012 - Present
A non-profit organization that offers formal military "Basics of Rifle Marksmanship" to individuals who have enlisted in the Infantry or other MOS (military occupational specialty) where they are, or will be deployed in a fire zone, or intimately in harm’s way. After 4 sessions, a typical non-shooter/operator will be capable of shooting a 3 to 6 inch group at 100 yards with the M-16 A2 rifle using the iron sights. The Operator will learn the nomenclature for the M-16 A2 rifle, field strip, clean and reassemble the rifle. Army enlistee’s will shoot the conventional M855 ball round, (62 grain, FMJ, green tip with steel penetrator core) and Marines will shoot their conventional Mk262 OTM (Open Tip Match) round, 77 grain round. The Operators train with either the M-16 A2 rifle or M-4 Carbine, which ever they will be issued when deployed. Only the factory iron military sights are used to develop basic marksmanship skills. No scopes or holographic sights are used at this level.Soldiers who come home on leave, and who are returning to an Active Military Theater of Operation receive Advanced Marksmanship Training. This entails shooting single and multiple stationary targets, as well as moving targets at 200 yards, which also includes hostage situations. This training is done on a personal basis, and at NO expense to the applicant! "The Gift of Life Project" personally financed by myself and has no affiliation with the DOD or any branch of the Armed Forces.

    Operations Manager
    York Barbell Company 1994 - 2000
Vic Standish, owner of York Barbell, purchased my steel fabrication business in 1994I moved to York to run the manufacturing division. Responsible for day to day operations, metal fabrication to final assembly of weight and fitness equipment. Trained lead people in new procedures of manufacture, fluid methods to increase production while decreasing costs. Personally designed 200 pieces of fitness equipment for 6 different lines, to compete in box stores, residential sales, commercial sales, and high end for use NBA, NFL teams. Personally built all prototypes. weld fixtures, designed print packages until March 2000, when the new owners sent all fabrication work to China. Instructed lead men in MIG/TIG welding, plasma cutting, CNC/VMC G-code programming, hands-on use of all metal and wood fabrication equipment. Designed new machinery to reduce and aid in manufacturing process (eg., upholstery press, adjustable cable machine). Set standards for quality assurance. Create department standards and quotas, standards for Customer Service regarding Return Authorizations. Created production standards, tolerance guidelines which allowed YBB to be1 of 3 companies to supply weights and fitness equipment for the World Olympics.Engineered complete line of “interchangeable stock parts” that were used on all 6 lines of equipment and reduced parts costs up to 70%. • Weather-Tite Manufacturing
    Plant Manager
    Weather-Tite Manufacturing Sep 1986 - 1988
Responsible for all facets of manufacturing vinyl windows, bow/bay windows, steel doors in a 155,000 sq. ft. plant. In less than 1 year period, reduced manufacturing time for 1 window, from 2.7 man hours to 1 window every 2 minutes. This increased companies gross sales $50,000.00 per week to $400,000.00 per week. Eliminated need for employees to read tape measures by creating a color-coded system of drill fixtures, which guaranteed proper positioning for all hardware, locks and handles.I designed, developed and manufactured semi-automated and automated production lines to decrease manual labor time and increase quality control. I designed and manufactured a window wrapping machine which rapped 60 windows per hour with one man. Conventional method was one man hold a vinyl replacement window on a milk cart and another man walk around with stretch wrap The manual time with 2 men could only wrap20 windows per hour . The only other option was a pallet wrapping machine which operated at 6 RPM. The cost of this machine was amortized 2 months.I also designed the profiles for the vinyl windows, ran the extrusion machines, and built the down stream equipment for extruding the vinyl profiles at our sister company, UTP, United Thermal Plastics.Designed many pieces of equipment which were never in existence prior to my designs.
  • Frankford Arsenal
    Owner
    Frankford Arsenal 1976 - 1986
Owned and operated a small arms manufacturing company that specialized in the mfg. of the M-16 A1 rifle and sound suppressors for civilian, police, military and export sales. The specialty weapon of SWAT teams, produced and sold in large quantities, was the XM-177. An M-16 A1 with a 10" barrel. Used religiously by SWAT teams due to the light weight 5.56mm bullet (55 grains) would disintegrate/fragment after contact with human or material objects decreasing the liability of the Law Enforcement Departments and Towns. Many SWAT teams used the H&K MP5 submachine gun with the 9mm cartridge (124 grain FMJ), which could penetrate the combatant, refrigerator, the party wall and the neighbor, etc.In 1976, designed a 9mm conversion for the military and commercial market place which would allow a total caliber conversion on the M-16 A1/AR-15 rifle. The conversion took less than 10 seconds, and would switch the 5.56mm x 45mm rifle cartridge to the 9mm pistol cartridge. This was the first successful 9mm conversion unit available on the commercial market for sale in the USA.The M-9 submachine gun, designed and mfg'd. by Frankford Arsenal, based on the M-16 upper and lower receiver was available in barrel lengths of 10" and under. The preferred M-9 SMG procured by SWAT teams used a 6" barrel with internal suppressor, and a M-11 external suppressor. I designed 9mm high performance subsonic ammunition using a 158 grain NYCLAD (Teflon coating over lead) hollow point bullet which made the M-9 one of the most quite and effective suppressed submachine guns in the world.Additionally licensed to mfg. "Destructive Devices" (M-79 and M-203 grenade launchers, Claymore and Platter mines, Defensive and Offensive Hand Grenades.Registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco and Fireams, National Firearms Act Branch and Department of State as a "Manufacturer of Implements of War".Additionally designed suppressors for the rifle and submachine gun, which are still in use today.
