Bob worked for Canadian National Railways (CN) for 41 years, during which time CN evolved from an under-performing government owned corporation to a publically traded success story and one of the most efficient freight railways in the world. Starting in Information Technology as a developer and moving to the business world as a contract manager responsible for multi-million dollar acquisitions, Bob never left IT far behind. After a few years in the business, Bob became part of the hand selected team that created the business case for replacing CN's aging legacy systems with an ERP solution. This business case launched CN's successful SAP Program in 1998, a program that continues today with more than 200 legacy systems retired and $70 million dollars of SAP projects currently underway.Bob was co-founder of SUGRail, the SAP User Group for Railways and worked on the Linear Asset Management sub-committee of SUGRail. His expertise extends to the areas of procurement, inventory, linear and mobile asset management and mobile solutions. Bob was most recently responsible for IT Business Development & Partnerships at CN and worked extensively with SAP, HCL-Axon, Accenture and railways around the Globe to influence the direction of SAP development in support of the Rail Industry.Specialties: SAP, purchasing & inventory management, enterprise asset management
