My team and I were responsible for the monthly consolidation and translation of the worldwide financial results for all entities, analysis of manufacturing variances, management of the external auditors with the required PBC schedules and their fieldwork, quarterly SEC reporting, SOX compliance, policy updates and drafts, treasury, accounts payable and payroll processing. The company had entities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, The United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, China, Australia and Indonesia.I was responsible for acquisition accounting for several purchases as well as twice for the entire company when the company was first purchased by a private equity (PE) firm and then sold by that PE firm to a strategic buyer (Colfax). The acquisition entries needed to be completed by legal entity in local currency and translated into USD.The base accounting and consolidation system used by Victor Technologies was JD Edwards, but we also used Hyperion Essbase as a reporting, budgeting and forecasting platform. After being purchased by Colfax, we also made use of SAP.
