Responsible for the leading an effort for the review and analysis of commercial products as well as government products used in text classification, categorization and taxonomy generation. Developed next generation system concept and architecture for filtering and selection.

Responsible for developing DSP application software for an all Optical Polarization Mode Dispersion Compensator for 10 and 40 Gbps networks. Designed, prototyped and developed algorithms that ran on general-purpose computers as well as application specific digital signal processors. Specified the signal processing architecture that included DSPs, FPGAs, memory devices including FLASH and SDRAM circuits, as well as interface devices such as UART devices, analog to digital converters (ADCs) as well as digital to analog converters (DACs). Developed the algorithms that were incorporated into the FPGA-based processing system. Authored the Interface Control Documents used to communicate information with the board’s processors as well to communicate information to external processors. All code was designed and written using Analog Device’s Visual C/C++ develop environment for the Analog Device 21065L digital signal processor.

Responsible for analyzing system requirements and developing system specifications for a multi-channel VSAT software demodulator. Identified and analyzed commercial off the shelf demodulators and made recommendations for purchasing of COTS demodulators. Responsible for the design and development of software modules within the MIDAS 2K framework for the processing of digitized signals. These software modules consisted of a Costas Loop demodulator, block phase estimator, adaptive equalizer, and Viterbi FEC decoding and bit processing. Software modules were developed in C/C++ utilizing DSP techniques optimized for processing performance. Software demodulator runs on DEC and SUN UNIX based workstations.

Program Manager and Systems Engineer for wireless medical telemetry development project. As Program Manager, responsible for developing tasking, scheduling, and costs for the project, as well as preparing management reports and status briefings to the customer as well as his line management. As the Systems Engineer for the program, responsible for developing the overall wireless architecture that includes the definition of the wireless access point functionality, end user workstation functionality, and mobile telemetry functionality. Responsible for analyzing, developing and allocating system requirements to each of the components of the wireless telemetry system. Developed and specified radio system parameters that included a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) schema with a robust block-data encoding scheme that operated as a 2.4 Ghz Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum wireless LAN. Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the prototype radios integrated correctly with the customer’s existing product line as well as the customers next generation product line. Responsible for ensuring that the products and work were developed according the medical device manufactures stringent quality assurance plan. All software was developed for the Texas Instruments TMS320C203/5 and Analog Devices AD2185/87 Digital Signal Processors as well as general purpose computers.
