As Manager Satellite planning was responsible for Satellite Capacity Planning and Ground Station Site selection Design and Facilities integration.Negotiated the essential Spectrum allocation for the NBN satellites with the ACMA and initiated the selection of the orbital locations for the next NBN satellites.Established the business case for the introduction of the Interim satellite solution. Worked closely with IP Star and Optus to introduce the interim service and upgrade of theIP Star facilities to ensure service reliability prior to the launch of the NBN Co satellite.

Responsible for all aspects of the Australian and Singaporean Satellite Business including: Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Sales functions.Managing a staff of 250 people this high margin business provided combined revenues of $275 million .The satellite business is highly complex in a technical and marketing sense requiring strong strategic marketing and financial skills.During this period led negotiations supported by Merrill Lynch with a number of potential buyers for the Australian satellite business. Negotiations were terminated when Singtel purchased the Optus Company. Achievements Major Broadcast customer contracts negotiated included Foxtel, SBS and ABC Introduction of a highly successful VSAT platform which is now the basis of providing Internet and distance learning in rural and remote Australia Key Government education contracts for VSAT services including School of the Air Introduction of a highly successful satellite consulting group. Launch of the C1 satellite – a joint acquisition with Australian Defence Business case analysis resulting in Singtel Optus commitment enabling release of an RFT for the “D” series satellites
