Negotiated new freight contract with carriers for inbound/outbound freight. Managed a 70,000 sq. ft. Asset Recovery Department for our primary customer Sun Microsystems. This consisted of 45 employees including one supervisor and 4 lead personal. Responsible for all OSHA safety and environmental reporting, HR development, position training, annual reviews, pay increases, disciplinary actions. Assigned to position of Facility/Safety Manager, October 2002. Designed and put into practice a new safety program for facility. Since program implementation began facility maintained zero accidents or lost time due to accidents or incidents. Researched and maintained all compliances and set standards for all training sessions for 7-member Facility Emergency Response Team. Set up all training sessions and ensured all training re-certification events. This included first aid, CPR and defibrillator response, disaster planning, and evacuation and flood control.Successfully conducted and implemented a full ergonomic review of 17 SIRVA Logistics in employees working at our HP/Compaq Warehouse in Fremont, California. This review resulted in a reduction in repetitive stress accidents by 17% in the first year and was adopted by other vendors at the facility including HP/Compaq.Member of project management team that successfully moved and integrated a multi- departmental, 185,000 sq. ft. 3PL/VMI warehouse from Union City, California into an existing 261,000 sq. ft. facility in San Jose, California. The CSO/Asset Recovery department was moved under budget and within preset time parameters.Successfully designed and implemented a cost analysis with program specific savings that was accepted by then customer Sun Microsystems in May 2002. The annual projected savings was $223,472.00 per year.Created and instituted a recycling program that reduced waste management costs for the customer by 82%, while creating projected revenue for SIRVA/North American Logistics of between $8,000.00 and $10,000.00 per year in recycling.

I was in charge of a 500,000 sq. ft. 3PL warehouse with 65 customers including deconsolidation/crossdocking program for Walgreens Drug Stores. This was a 3000 to 4000 container a year operation with seasonal peaks for all holidays. The warehouse had 173 employees at peak season including 8 supervisors. Walgreens operation supplied items to 45 DC's including other 3PL operations across the United States. Other customers included Samlex Computer Systems from Canada, Hills Pets/Science Diet Pet Food, Coca Cola Company, Crystal Geyser, Dannon and Danone Waters. This was AIB certified warehouse with a 977 rating, 1000 was perfect.

Responsible for crew of 9 employees, maintenance of all inventory via cycle counting, shipping and receiving. Conducted full re-rack expansion of facility that doubled holding capacity of existing building. Conducted all freight negotiations with multiple carriers for domestic shipping. Primary customers at the time were; Target, Walgreens, Office Max, Staples, and Office Depot.

My position was the Operations Manager at the MBM facility in Pleasanton, Ca. Our DC serviced all of the Denny's, Carrow's, Coco's and Wendy's restaurants in the Northern California (Fresno to the Oregon Border) and Southern Nevada Regions. The DC was 120,000 sq. ft. AIB Certified, Food Grade, Dry/Chill/Frozen environment. My reports were 1 Warehouse Manager, three Supervisors and 76 employees on two shifts. My oversight was DC Operations, I worked very closely with Transportation/Fleet Management, CS, and was responsible for all outside vendors. I was also the back up Plant Manager in the event of his absence.

I was the Warehouse Manager at the Richmond, Ca. DC and the Traffic Manager at the Pier 31 DC in San Francisco, Ca. Our Richmond DC handled all the Retail Packaging items and the Pier 31 DC handled the Industrial Packaging Warehouse. Created and put into practice a Vehicular Accident Tracking for two Distribution Centers which lowered the accident rate by 45% in the first year. The ARC is a Non-Profit Organization for the benefit of Developmentally Disabled Adults in San Francisco, Ca. They provide employment thru small in house kitting and warehousing jobs and for higher functioning clients some outside employment is available. I was responsible for all the Warehousing in two warehouses. I worked with four (Disabled) clients as part of my staff and one full time truck driver. I was also in charge of the delivery, set up, serving and removal of our off-site catering systems for SAP Corporation in Foster City, California.

Supervised Frozen and Dry Warehouses in San Francisco Bay Area. S.E Rykoff was a restaurant supply warehouse. Supervised 6 order selectors and a shuttle driver at the frozen warehouse and up to 60 employees in the dry warehouse. Responsibities included tracking metrics, driver check-in, inventory control. Worked with 3 labor unions (Drivers, Warehousemen and Clerks).

Was hired as a Production Supervisor, was promoted to Asst. Night Manager in Feb 1985, then to Night Warehouse Manager in June 1985. I Managed multiple warehouses for a 3 PL that handled all distribution for Longs Drugs Stores in 6 different states.
