Responsibilities include all recruiting, interviewing and hiring of all seasonal and regular full time employees for the DC. Responsibility also includes all HR development, position training, annual reviews, (with mid-year follow-up); pay increases, disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.Created and implemented a safety team consisting of 8 members mixed from both office and distribution center, management and hourly employees. Creation of the safety team reduced the accident rate within the company by 77% in the first year. This resulted in a savings of $168,000 in paid claims and lowered our premiums for the our policy renewal by $10,000.00 from the previous year. Currently the company has maintained a safety record of over 900 days without a lost time accident. Conducted full Ergonomics Review of Returns department with 100% success rate and have maintained zero incident rates since 2007. Negotiated new freight contract with carriers for inbound/outbound freight. This resulted in a 35% savings overall.Established formal metrics tracking for all departments within the DC, which increased productivity and reduced the cost per piece in all departments within the first 90 days. This consisted of 45 employees including one supervisor and 4 lead personal. Responsible for all OSHA safety and environmental reporting, HR development, position training, annual reviews, pay increases, disciplinary actions. Assigned to position of Facility/Safety Manager, October 2002. Designed and put into practice a new safety program for facility. Since program implementation began facility maintained zero accidents or lost time due to accidents or incidents. Researched and maintained all compliances and set standards for all training sessions for 7-member Facility Emergency Response Team. Set up all training sessions and ensured all training re-certification events. This included first aid, CPR and defibrillator response, disaster planning, and evacuation and flood control.Successfully conducted and implemented a full ergonomic review of 17 SIRVA Logistics in employees working at our HP/Compaq Warehouse in Fremont, California. This review resulted in a reduction in repetitive stress accidents by 17% in the first year and was adopted by other vendors at the facility including HP/Compaq.Member of project management team that successfully moved and integrated a multi- departmental, 185,000 sq. ft. 3PL/VMI warehouse from Union City, California into an existing 261,000 sq. ft. facility in San Jose, California. The CSO/Asset Recovery department was moved under budget and within preset time parameters.Successfully designed and implemented a cost analysis with program specific savings that was accepted by then customer Sun Microsystems in May 2002.
