Commissioned through the Officer Training School, career highlights included tours as a C-130 navigator, instructor navigator, Tactical Airlift Liaison Officer to the US Army, and joint staff tours in the Republic of Korea and Belgium (NATO). Command positions held included the 43 Operational Support Squadron at Pope Air Force Base, NC and the 712 Air Base Group located at Morón Air Base, Spain, near Seville. Additionally, assigned as the Director of Current Operations, 618 Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center), 18th Air Force, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base IL. Last military position held was as the Commander of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 330, University of Maryland (UM), College Park, Maryland, responsible for the education, training and commissioning officer candidates for the United States Air Force, dual hated as the Department Chairman and Professor of Aerospace Studies. These command positions demonstrated an effective ability to implement the strategy, vision, and direction of both large (1200 personnel) and small (175 personnel) organizations by managing the day to day operations. Specific duties and responsibilities spanned the spectrum from the formulation and execution of policies, day to day management of operations, to the planning and execution of personnel, material, and financial resources leading toward mission success.
