Responsible for providing appropriate training courses for new businesses in Midlothian. Ensure that the training provided meets the needs of participants. Monitor quality of training delivered and if appropriate introduce new providers. Market research and business plan preparation for new businesses.

Involved in the development of Training Grants Programme available to companies within Lothian. Work closely with local companies who have applied for grants to develop their employees and improve their business performance. Advise senior managers on staff development and the achievement of company objectives. Assist in the selection of business consultants.Contract negotiation.Responsible for budget of £2-300,000 p.a.
