This growing capability provides situational awareness products used by strategic and front line staff to plan and track the delivery of aid to the effected population. This includes acquiring, converting and managing geospatial data; creation and maintenance of map and graphic templates; drafting and maintaining standard operating procedures. I used Google Earth, the Google APIs, ESRI collector and ESRI ArcGIS for mobile to create proof-of-concept technology demonstrations. These showcased low-cost options that could enable the Red Cross to have near real time geospatial intelligence and locational awareness on which to base decision during a disaster response.Created a geospatial visualisation for the 2013 International Committee of the Red Cross / Red Crescent Societies Statutory Meetings in Sydney using Google Earth, Google APIs and Linux. This self-contained interactive visualisation ran completely from a USB stick and was used to inform visiting delegates of the scope and variety of disasters that the Australian Red Cross has responded to over the last ten years. This role allows me to maintain my skills and push the limits of my technical ability in an attempt to provide the best service with the resources available. It provides a challenging project management environment in which clear communication with stakeholders is critical. Show less
