Bob is EVP, General Counsel and Chief Development Officer at Pinnacle West Capital Corp and President of Pinnacle West Power (and PinnWest’s unregulated businesses). He is a strategic advisor, negotiator, manager & leader of large-scale transactions. A trusted advisor to Boards of Directors and senior corporate leadership teams, and a recognized corporate governance expert, he has served as director on a public company board. His experience spans growing start-ups, strategic growth and advice, structured finance, venture fund strategy and advisor, public company spin-offs, major litigation & regulatory strategy, to building high-performing teams. He delivers outstanding value by providing clear communication, sound strategy & effective results across the full range of critical business challenges.As SVP and General Counsel for the Columbia Pipeline Group (now TransCanada Corp.), Bob served as Member of the Executive Council, Benefits & Risk Management committees, Columbia’s Foundation, and was a Board member of Columbia Pipeline Partners. Reporting to the CEO, he managed all aspects of a 37-person legal department, provided proactive/strategic leadership to the CEO, Board & and the company, and led Columbia’s merger with TransCanada to a successful closure. Bob oversaw legal operations/strategy; strategically settled multi-million dollar complex litigation; assisted with new directors’ recruitment/onboarding; and led multiple, complex/large-scale transactions.From 2008 – 2014, Bob served as VP, Deputy General Counsel/Corp. Secretary for NiSource, and as Assoc. Gen. Counsel for Progress Energy (now Duke Energy). He started his professional career at Dykema.Bob serves as Chairman of the Board of Global Action, an international compassion and training organization. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the El Faro Ephraim Foundation, a Foundation supporting training and compassion efforts in Guatemala.Bob earned a JD with honors from the Ohio State University College of Law, and a BA cum laude from the University of South Alabama.
