About Bob Steele
In July, 2008 I returned to my undergraduate alma mater, DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana to become the Eugene S. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Professor of Journalism. In January, 2010, I became the Director of the Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw, leading programs and conferences on a wide range of ethical issues. I also taught seminars in Journalism Ethics, Leadership and Responsibility, and Storytelling About Our Core Values.On June 30, 2014 I retired from DePauw. Carol and I moved to the foothills of the Rockies outside of Denver, Colorado. I continue to do some consulting on ethics issues for journalism organizations.I also continue to serve as The Nelson Poynter Scholar for Journalism Values at The Poynter Institute, where I was a faculty member from 1989 - 2008. I coach and guide journalists and media leaders on real-time ethics issues. Over the years, I've led workshops for nearly 100 newspapers, television stations and media groups.
