'The Splinter Project' is officially closed. Now I just help out family and friends, mostly with woodworking projects.

The Splinter Project is an idea that melds multiple disciplines. The vision combines manufacturing, project management, education and woodworking under one roof. Although these may normally be mutually exclusive, components are combined from the wealth of knowledge.- Education in Project Management skills pulls from both generation of lecture materials, teaching in a classroom setting, leading projects, mentoring other project managers as well as experience with leading a department’s portfolio of projects.- Consulting comes from years of experience with manufacturing in tooling, automation and Lean-Sigma techniques. It draws upon use of the project work from both self and others. Also the use of knowledge to not only look at the now perspective, but how it can shape the future.- Woodworking ties project management and manufacturing in on any job that may be custom or product related. A small well equipped shop can produce boxes, frames, lazy Susan’s as well as custom built-ins for homes.All of this ultimately draws upon the love of multiple disciplines. This is a journey that depending on the needs, can take many directions.

Project Management Teacher, Mentor and PMO Lead: Brought up the level of project management skills in the test organization.Project Manager: Led Projects relating to the test organization to bring equipment from concept to production.Lean/Six Sigma: Solved issues facing the test organization using the standard Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.Manufacturing, Automation, System Engineering: Develop test and automated systems for product testing and handling.Product Development: Responsible for new product developments as it relates to test and burn-in from the perspective of manufacturing.
