Sr. Director It Service Management
Led significant improvements in the IT Service Management Team of 65+ employees/contractors and processes in the following areas:• Asset Management: Conducted a hardware physical inventory in the first 120 days at over thirty sites and introduced a scanner interface directly into ServiceNow giving the ability to immediately update/create active asset information tied to locations. This established a baseline for over twenty thousand records; which allowed the cleanup of stale data from years of business acquisitions and divestitures, outsourcing to insourcing activities, the opening and closing of office sites, and the consolidation of eight data centers to two.• Configuration Management: Improved the accuracy of configuration items in the CMDB by establishing the knowledge and a quality control checkpoint to improve the CMDB horizontal auto-discovery process – which eliminated over 500 thousand processing errors generated since its inception a year earlier.• Change, Incident, Problem and Availability Management: Through the implementation of multiple process and communication improvements we achieved a reduction in major incidents by over half, while witnessing an increase in the number of production changes by as much as thirty percent and meeting our KPI for urgent changes across all business units for the first time. As a result, we targeted the improvement of availability SLAs for major incidents by half.• Automated the desktop software installation process in ServiceNow by creating an interface with SCCM to deliver the software built on a manager’s approval of the service request. This improvement took the average installation processing time from about a week down to 10-15 minutes.
Senior Project/Program Manager/Director
• Led a multi-year $125M data center consolidation program to simplify Ally’s hosting environments and reduce the operational budget by over $40M per year. This included establishing two new data centers, migrating over 175 strategic business applications, over 5,000 interfaces, created over 2,400 server images, migrated over 260TB of data from 8 data centers and re-established over 15,000 scheduled jobs. Received the Ally LEAD award in 2013 – one (1) of fifty-six (56) recipients across the entire company recognized in support of the cultural norms embodied by the company.• Directed the migration of network routers, switches, proxies and circuits, along with an employee VPN solution from multiple suppliers to a successful outsourced five-year contract with AT&T. This included the integration of asset and incident management interfaces with the supplier. The program was delivered on time, on budget and immediately achieved the stated business objectives.• Helped select a supplier, then led IBM in requirement and process definition sessions targeted to close Bank Holding Company gaps associated with IT Service Management in the areas of Asset, Configuration, Incident and Problem Management.
