Responsible for the implementation of the vision, mission, strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Assist, through coordination with the Chair, the Board of Directors with their governance and policy-making functions by keeping the Board informed on all policy and operational issues. Serve as head of staff, providing human resource development, direction, supervision, and support to both program and administrative staff. Manage the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of all programs and activities. Oversee fund-raising planning and implementation, research sources and funding requirements, establish strategies to approach funders, submit proposals, supervise grant deliverables and write reports. Supervise all fiscal activities, recommend annual budgets for Board approval and manage the organization’s resources. Work to insure that the mission, programs, and services of the organization were consistently presented in a positive manner to all relevant partners and stakeholders.

Responsible for the coordination of the FHCGB’s public policy initiatives and served as representative to various coalitions; Massachusetts Smart Growth Alliance, MAPC’s Sustainable Communities/Fair Housing Caucus, Action for Regional Equity, Massachusetts Alliance Against Predatory Lending, and the Massachusetts Community and Banking Council. Continued responsibility for the management of the Housing Services and Program Outreach Unit.

Responsible for the management of the Housing Services and Program Outreach Unit.Oversee mandatory and non-mandatory fair housing trainings that are conducted throughout eastern Massachusetts for landlords, property managers, real estate brokers government agencies and non-profits. Supervised the Center’s ESOL fair housing trainings which are designed to insure that people with limited English-speaking skills know their rights. Developed a new housing counseling program for first-time homebuyers and current homeowners, which included counseling on lending discrimination and foreclosure issues. Responsible for daily staff supervision/evaluation, the writing of monthly and quarterly reports, layout of FHCGB literature, planning for the Fair Housing Month event and assisting in the writing of funding proposals. Represented the Fair Housing Center in several public policy coalitions

Coordinated the legislative, community-based activities and media strategy of a metro-Boston coalition dedicated to the improvement of public transportation, with an emphasis on increasing the role of communities of color and low-income neighborhoods in transit decision-making. Strengthened and expanded internal membership and supported Coalition member campaigns. Organized and facilitated meetings and events. Along with the Steering Committee, assisted in the development of a multi-year Strategic Plan and from that developed and implemented the Annual Work Plans. Primary spokesperson and representative for the organization with the media, government and elected officials, labor unions, business organizations, community groups and in public forums. Documented the organization’s activities, correspondence and media coverage.

Responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operation of a multi-neighborhood coalition representing Chinatown, the South End, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Dorchester and Mattapan to address the issue of replacement transit service for the Washington Street Corridor. Developed technical documents and popular literature about all phases of the project. Provided testimony before various governmental bodies. Served as a liaison to city, state, and federal agencies. Acted as the primary spokesperson.
