I work with technologists, strategists, BD and marketing professionals and business leaders to understand and leverage the rapidly growing field of autonomous systems in a credible and achievable fashion. Autonomy includes the subtopics of Perception, Situational Understanding, Planning and Decision-Making, and Behavior Execution. Plus, today's appetite for Intelligent Autonomous Systems requires a strong affinity with Artificial Intelligence. Autonomous systems naturally require a System View since they depend heavily on sensors, signal processing, electro-mechanical systems, computers and microprocessors, communications, human-machine interfaces, and more. To be successful in today's marketplace, implementations should follow Open Systems Architecture principles, embrace component and platform interoperability, and leverage Commercial Off The Shelf componentry where possible. Thus, as an Autonomous Systems Solution Architect, I take a multi-disciplinary approach to crafting autonomous solutions that will meet operational and system requirements while meeting cost and risk constraints. As an Autonomous Systems Subject Matter Expert, I provide review and guidance on autonomy architectures and implementations, help clients integrate autonomy into their existing products, solutions and work force and incorporate autonomy into their technology road maps and strategic vision. As such, I provide technical leadership across strategic planning, business development and project execution. Additionally, I Chair the SAE AS4 Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS) Technical Committee and was previously their Task Group Chair for Autonomy.
