Worked with VP Manufacturing /Technology expert on feasibility studies for design / build of $400m, 150ktpa Chloride TiO2 manufacturing plant (Shanghai, China and Richards Bay, RSA); led engineering feasibility work liaising with government agencies, infrastructure service providers, local consultants, design and construction.

- Led design / build of 50ktpa Chloride TiO2 manufacturing stream, utilising improved technology / engineering for an investment of $90m; this enabled closure / demolition of original TiO2 plant; completed on cost / time and achieved a ramp-up to full capacity within two months of initial operation; project saved the site from closure.- Used this major.

During ICI divestment and before sale to Huntsman, worked with McKinsey Consultants to identify cost reduction savings; led implementation of 835 minor improvement projects to reduce site manufacturing cost; completed within 18 month target; improvements saved site from closure.
