Bob Wade represents hospitals and health systems nationwide in fraud and abuse issues (including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law and False Claims Act), fair market value (FMV)/commercial reasonableness(CR) and developing, monitoring and documenting effective healthcare compliance programs. A nationally recognized speaker on these topics, he has given close to 100 presentations since 2015, including at AHLA and HCCA annual conferences. Host of STARK INTEGRITY: The Stark Law and Compliance Podcast. A former General Counsel and Organizational Integrity Officer for a multi-hospital system, Bob has experience negotiating and implementing Corporate Integrity Agreements. He served as Compliance Expert to the Board of Commissioners of Halifax Health, advising the hospital on all aspects of its Corporate Integrity Agreement with the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Bob is the author of The Compliance Officer’s Handbook, a national resource for Compliance Officers and Compliance Departments. With more than 25 years of experience both in-house and as outside counsel to hospitals, Bob recognizes the importance of effective implementation of a compliance program. He is the creator of Captain Integrity (www.captainintegrity.com), a unique compliance branding and education program that uses Super Hero comic strips to communicate complex issues in practical, understandable terms that can be easily operationalized. The program has received national recognition and has been used by many hospitals, health systems and other providers.
